Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!
As I posted earlier this summer, we've put up a wild game feeder up at the ranch this year. While we're still not seeing much during the day (other than the photos in the previous posts) the game cam is seeing quite a bit of activity at night. Here are some photos for you! The buck is quite a magnificent animal!!

Howdy, and welcome back! We spent the weekend at OUR ranch. In fact, we were due to come back on Sunday afternoon, but Mama got so "ranched" (i.e. relaxed) that she gave me that look on Sunday that means "We aren't leaving today". So, we stayed until Monday evening. I had to drive quite a bit for work on Monday, but that was ok, as my family got to sleep in late, and the kids got wash and wax their four wheelers. <-------(Insert redneck joke here)
We got the deer feeder moved. It is in such a great spot, you can see it from the front porch...almost. There are some tree limbs in the way that prevent optimum line-of-sight viewing from the porch, but the big honey-bee nest/comb kept me from trimming the trees like I wanted to. Here's a piccie of the feeder from the top of the pond dam, click on it to enlarge the photo:

On Sunday afternoon, Mama went out to relax on the porch and she quickly came back in and said "DOE"! We went out, and I sent Ryan back for the camera. Here's a pic of the doe as she stood not 200 yards from the front porch:

You know, I don't know what I was more proud of: My wife recognizing at 200 yards that it was a doe, or the fact that later on she said "she was good sized too". Ahhhh, a good redneck woman is soooo hard to find......LOL!!
Well, thanx for reading, come back soon, O.K.?

Here's a new pic for the blog. It's of the backyard. You can see the beautiful Mimosa trees in full bloom. If you look to the left, you'll see the three pine trees (sorry, don't know the names) that my sister gave us for Christmas of '06. They sure are growing! If you double click the picture, you can see it fullsize.

This morning was a sad morning for our family. We said goodbye to one of our family members, Buster Brown. Buster was a part of our home for almost 14 years. He was an accomplished counter-surfer (never leave biscuits on the stove!), door opener, couch sleeper, snorer, and squirrel chaser.
He's off to doggie heaven now, chasing squirrels, and sleeping on God's couches.
We'll being scattering Buster's ashes up at the ranch soon. Rest in peace buddy.
