Sorry it has been so long since the last update. Things are coasting along smoothly at O.U.R. Ranch.

We spent the weekend at the Ranch with Tina, Jonathan, and Zachary. The boys sure had fun. If I had to guess, I would say that several THOUSAND bb's were shot, and the archery target has more holes than a block of swiss cheese.

We spent Saturday night fishing for about two hours, and Lauren was once again "queen fisherlady".

The garden is growing nicely. I got the yard cut and weed-eated. Man, is it HOT tho!!

Here are some pictures. First up is one of our cows. We got them back a month or so ago.

The map picture is a lithograph of one of the early maps of San Jacinto County. This was a gift from my wonderful wife for Father's Day. (...and the kids too!!) The original map was burned in a courthouse fire, and found in the rubble with the edges gone. My lithograph is set in a nice wormwood frame.

Lastly, some shots of the boys.

I hope you enjoy visiting our site!

Come back soon!

2005 has been an exciting year at the O.U.R. Ranch. Brenda, Ryan, Lauren, and I have spent many weekends up at "the ranch" making it more of a living ranch. (Oh, and of course....the dogs have always been right there with us!)We have installed over 1500 feet of new barb-wire fence to ensure that the cattle stay put.

We brought the cows back onto the place about two weeks ago. We have four there now, with two more due soon.....those two are still in another pasture. These cows have been named "daisy", "fraidy", "P.J.", and "pumpkin". When the other two arrive, they will be given proper cow names, as is obviously appropriate!

This year has seen several changes at the place. New floors in three rooms, new interior paint, the installation of a washer and dryer (to keep momma happy, and to keep her wanting to go up there!!), some new furniture, new wall decorations, and other little stuff. We have a new flower bed out front, complete with five gardenia plants, and a "home made" sprinkler system! We want to it to feel "comfy" to all who visit.

We have lots of other plans, but it will take time. I imagine new baseboards in the next weekend or two, followed by new exterior paint. It is just too hot right now to paint outdoors. We are in a drought now, which considering we had one of the wettest Spring seasons ever..is kinda wierd.
We were even visited by a pretty mean hail storm, as mama's truck will attest.

Please come back from time to time and check out our blog. I will try to update it regularly! Please feel free to leave your comments!!!
